How it works

  1. Choose your server and license

    Choose a server that meets your specific needs. When placing your order, select the Cloudron license and configure your network settings and other parameters as needed.

  2. Place your order

    After placing and paying for your order, we will contact you to confirm the exact time the server will be ready. Generally, the server setup process takes no longer than 15 minutes, regardless of the server type.

  3. Start working

    Once the server is up and running, we'll promptly send your access credentials by email. You can start working immediately, as Cloudron will already be pre-installed and fully operational, allowing you to start working without delay.

Cloudron offers a Free plan for up to 2 active apps, with no limit on the number of servers or instances.

Cloudron operates under a source-available licensing model rather than a traditional open-source license. The frontend and backend source code can be inspected on their repository for security auditing and verification, which makes it "source-available". The Cloudron license restricts copying, sublicensing and selling the software, and production requires an active subscription.

How do I install Cloudron on a Virtual or Dedicated Server?

To install Cloudron, you simply need to select it in the Software tab while ordering a server on the HOSTKEY website. Our auto-deployment system will install it on your server for you. You can also learn how to install Cloudron manually.

Cloudron is a self-hosted platform that simplifies the installation, management, updating and security of web applications on your own server. It provides a centralized dashboard, app store, automated backups, user management and built-in infrastructure services for running multiple applications with minimal manual administration.

One-Click App Installation

Install production-ready web applications from the Cloudron App Store without manually configuring application dependencies, databases, DNS or TLS certificates.

Automatic App Updates

Cloudron can automatically update installed applications and the platform itself according to configurable update policies. Backups can be created before updates, allowing applications to be restored if an update causes problems.

Centralized App Management

Manage multiple applications from a single web dashboard, including installation, configuration, domains, access, backups, updates and application lifecycle operations.

Built-In Backup and Restore

Cloudron backs up each application independently and supports restoring, cloning and migrating applications. Backups can be stored on external providers and optionally encrypted.

Centralized User Management and SSO

Manage users and groups from a central directory and control which applications each user can access. Cloudron also provides OpenID Connect and LDAP integration for authentication and single sign-on.

Automatic HTTPS and SSL Management

Cloudron automatically configures HTTPS and manages SSL/TLS certificates, including automatic issuance and renewal of Let's Encrypt certificates.

Application Isolation and Security

Applications run in isolated Docker-based environments with separate filesystems, security restrictions and non-root execution by default. Cloudron also automatically configures the server firewall and applies security updates.

Built-In Infrastructure Services

Cloudron can automatically provision supporting services such as databases, caching, email and authentication for compatible applications. These services are managed through Cloudron's addon system rather than requiring separate manual configuration.
