HOSTKEY Object Storage delivers the scalable space to store and manage your unstructured data using AWS S3-Compatible API. Employ your existing S3 tools with no extra charges for PUT / POST / COPY / LIST operations.
Use Cases
Early “Free Beta” Plan Conditions
The "Free Beta" plan is no longer available for new orders.
If you are currently using the "Free Beta" plan, you may continue to use it under the existing conditions. At a later stage, all active "Free Beta" users will be transitioned to the "Standard Storage" paid plan. We will notify you in advance with full details regarding the timeline and terms of this transition.
If you would like to remove the current limitations of the "Free Beta" plan and take advantage of scalable S3 Object Storage (increase volume and bandwidth), you can switch to the "Standard Storage" paid plan at any time by ordering it through the HOSTKEY user interface.
S3-compatible Object Storage is a way to store unstructured data, such as files, images, videos and logs, using an API compatible with the Amazon S3 standard. This allows you to use your existing tools, SDKs and workflows as with AWS S3, but with a different provider.
Backup and disaster recovery — reliably store and restore data without managing your own infrastructure
Media storage and delivery — host and deliver images, videos and other static content at scale
Data analytics and processing — store large datasets for analytics, logging and data pipelines
Application assets storage — manage user uploads, documents and other application files
As an alternative to AWS, HOSTKEY S3-compatible storage offers similar functionality but with no extra charges for PUT / POST / COPY / LIST operations. HOSTKEY S3 Object Storage remains fully compatible with all existing S3-based tools and workflows.
S3-compatible Object Storage is a simple and scalable way to store any type of unstructured data, from backups to media and logs. It is not tied to a traditional file system, and it handles growing workloads without reconfiguration and is typically more cost-efficient. It is fully compatible with AWS S3 API, which has become the industry standard.
Backup and disaster recovery
Use HOSTKEY S3-compatible storage that comes with backup tools and scripts to store backups. It supports automated backup pipelines, snapshots and offsite storage with easy recovery workflows.
Media storage and delivery
Host images, videos and other static assets for websites, apps and streaming platforms. HOSTKEY Object Storage works with S3-compatible tools and CDNs to deliver content and assets quickly and easily.
Big data and analytics
Use Object Storage as a data lake for large datasets. Link it to analytics pipelines and tools that rely on S3-compatible storage to process and query data.
Log and archive storage
Collect and store logs, audit data and past records for applications and infrastructure. It works with logging systems that export data to S3 storage.
Cloud-native applications
Store application data, user uploads, and assets for services that can grow. Works with S3 SDKs and modern backend architectures.
AI and Machine Learning datasets
Keep the training dataset, model outputs and results of the experiments. It offers reliable storage for AI workloads, making it possible for large teams to work together and process large amounts of data.
Website and Static Content Hosting
You can host static websites, landing pages and frontend assets directly from object storage. Deploy and manage content with high availability and easy scaling using tools that work with S3.
Data Archiving and Long-Term Storage
Put data that isn't used often in a way that saves money. It is perfect for compliance, keeping historical records and long-term storage without having to keep active infrastructure.
Create or log in to your HOSTKEY account
Visit the HOSTKEY client portal and sign in. If you don’t have an account yet, create one first.
Go to the “S3 Storage” section
In the user interface, open the S3 Storage menu section.
Create S3 Storage
Click “Create S3 Storage” after choosing the preferred location and plan, and entering the name of the first bucket.
Start using your S3 Storage
Once everything is complete, your S3 Object Storage will appear in the list and be ready for use. You can create additional independent storages by clicking ‘Create S3 Storage’; each one will be billed separately.
Access your credentials
After selecting the specific S3 storage, you can view its endpoint, Access Key, and Secret Key in the “Credentials” tab.
S3-compatible Object Storage is a scalable storage solution that stores various unstructured data. It adheres to the Application Programming Interface (API) specifications of Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3). This compatibility allows the storage system to seamlessly integrate with S3-compatible tools, applications and services, enabling users to leverage existing S3-based workflows and applications.
Object Storage is used for storing and managing large volumes of unstructured data, such as files, documents, images, videos and backups, in a highly scalable and durable manner. The most common use cases are:
Yes, you can upload backups to your S3 Object Storage manually.
The main functions are connected with buckets, files and access management. All tools are available in the user-friendly management console.
You can have up to 100 buckets in your HOSTKEY S3 Object Storage. If you need more, please contact the Support Team.
