How does it work?

For each server in corresponding location we provide a maximum of two /24 subnet announcements
You send us a request + a letter of authorization
We will contact you to clarify the details.
We set up a new IP block announcement or make a peering with your AS BGP speaker.
The IP block will be routed to your server directly or to your private VLAN. For instant / sale configurations, IP block can only be routed to your server.

The benefits of BYOIP

BYOIP allows customers to use their own public IP addresses on HOSTKEY-based servers. This means they no longer have to change their IP addresses and can continue to deploy their services without interruption.

The BYOIP service is available for verified clients and can only be used with dedicated or colocated servers. HOSTKEY reserves the right to terminate the announcement without prior notice in case of violation of its Terms of Service. If the Customer's subnet is getting blocked in Spamhaus or other blocklists, Hostkey may stop announcing it at its discretion without prior notice. Subnets listed in Spamhaus or other black lists are not eligible for BYOIP services. We will be unable to announce it.

What are the benefits of using my own IP addresses?

There are many reasons to use your own IP addresses:

You have your own independent address range or AS (Autonomous System).
You want to be sure of the purity of your IP space - reputation is important to your service, affecting, for example, the deliverability of emails.
You have rented/purchased an IP block at significant expense.
You want to minimize the risks associated with blocking the fragmented IP addresses of other providers.
You are deploying an infrastructure that has a hardcoded device or sophisticated IP-based security attached, but which does not entail a rethinking of your entire policy and management portfolio.
You want to minimize downtime when changing providers.
You can set up seamless balancing between geographically distributed sites via managed BGP announcements.

Why would I want to use BYOIP?

There are several reasons why you might want to use BYOIP. For example, you may want to maintain control over your IP address space or AS numbers, or you may want to use specific IP addresses for your online services. You may already have your own blocks or rented them at significant expense.

What are the benefits of using BYOIP?

BYOIP offers several benefits, including the ability to use your own IP addresses, improved flexibility in managing your network resources, reduced costs compared to purchasing IP addresses from your hosting provider, and improved performance and security.

Is BYOIP available for all types of hosting services?

BYOIP is available for dedicated and colocated (colo) servers.

Is BYOIP difficult to set up?

Setting up BYOIP can be complex and may require a good understanding of networking protocols and configurations. However, knowledgeable HOSTKEY engineers can help simplify the process and ensure that everything is set up correctly. We will just route your block into your private VLAN and you will be able to assign your own IPs to new servers.

Can I buy and use HOSTKEY IPs in addition to my BYOIP IPs, and how do I provision and use them?

Absolutely! HOSTKEY offers additional IP addresses to rent, which you can add to your existing IP pool. As a customer, you have complete control over your IP addresses and can assign them as needed. This means you can use your BYOIP IPs and HOSTKEY IPs together in any combination that works for your needs.

Is it possible for me to keep my branded hostname?

Yes, as a customer, you will retain ownership of the PTR record associated with your hostname, and the reverse lookup will remain the same. Therefore, you can continue to use your branded hostname as you did before.
