HOSTKEY, a leading provider of high-performance hosting solutions, today announced a strategic partnership with the Finnish Communication and Internet Exchange (FICIX), the largest internet exchange point (IXP) in Finland. This direct connection significantly expands HOSTKEY's network capacity and enhances connectivity for its customers.
FICIX, or the Finnish Communication and Internet Exchange, is the largest Internet exchange point in Finland. Established in 1993, FICIX is a non-profit association that offers neutral and reliable IP peering facilities for its members and customers. It operates five sites: FICIX1 in Espoo and Telia Helsinki Data Center, FICIX2 in Helsinki and Equinix HE7, and FICIX3 in Oulu. All sites are equipped with carrier-class switching equipment and Internet root servers. FICIX operates layer-2 switching platforms using MPLS/VPLS technology and supports port speeds of 1G, 10G, and 100G.
By peering directly with FICIX at Digita DC, HOSTKEY benefits from:
Increased Bandwidth and Connectivity: This direct connection enhances the overall bandwidth and connectivity of the HOSTKEY network. Data transfer rates are significantly increased, resulting in faster loading times and improved responsiveness for HOSTKEY's customers.
Enhanced Performance: FICIX's robust infrastructure ensures efficient data exchange within Finland. By keeping traffic local, HOSTKEY reduces latency (delays) and optimizes performance for its Finnish clients.
“We are excited to partner with FICIX, a major internet exchange point in Finland,” said Jeroen de Bie, CEO at HOSTKEY. “This strategic connection directly translates to a more robust and high-performaing network for our customers. They will experience faster data transfer speeds, improved response times, and a solid foundation for future cloud-based solutions.”
