The program is open to specialists and professionals in the data science sector performing research or other projects centered on innovative uses of GPU processing and which will glean practical results in the field of data science.
Experience has told us at HOSTKEY that groundbreaking innovation is a direct result of access to GPU Technology. For this reason, we have established the HOSTKEY GPU GRANT PROGRAM.
The program is open to specialists and professionals in the data science sector performing research or other projects centered on innovative uses of GPU processing and which will glean practical results in the field of data science.
Projects in the field of data science span the entire spectrum from theoretical foundations to innovative models, algorithms, and applications in business, medicine, engineering, and science.
The objective of the Competition is to support basic scientific research and prospective start-ups, develop international cooperation in the field of basic scientific research, create the conditions for the implementation of scientific projects and IT projects in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning among teams from the European Union, the United States of America and other countries.
Data Science is an increasingly important discipline as the sheer quantity of data is ballooning across all disciplines in every industry. Indeed, the high demand can include applications in theoretical foundations as well as for cutting-edge innovation, modeling, and algorithms in fields as varied as business, medicine, engineering and hard science.
GPUs have already played an integral role in training predictive models based on gigantic amounts of data. Indeed they are increasingly being harnessed in Data Science as their raw power has great benefits beyond other computational methods. We intend to remain at the forefront of this seismic shift to a new approach to Data Science and as such, we wish to support research in the following areas:
Innovations in one or more of the core elements of Data Science and Analysis, including loading, preprocessing, machine learning applications for its analysis, and the visualization of results.
The formulation of new GPU-based solutions for data science that had hitherto been performed on CPUs.
Ways of optimizing pre-existing GPU data problems with an eye for increased efficiency.
The research applications must focus on the above-mentioned challenges in any number of the following fields:
Data Science: approaches to the analysis of different sorts of data, across the application spectrum ranging from science to business, including but not limited to astronomy, biology, chemistry, genetics, aerospace, industry, green technology, geospatial, sociology, and finance.
Large-scale Data Science: scalability methods from one GPU upwards.
Applied Data Science: practical applications in real situations. This could entail projects dealing with actual data from algorithms used in business, for example, or for another practicable real-world application.
Applicants must be full-time faculty or research fellows at a recognized academic institution.
Applicants must be the Principal Investigator in the given project.
Applicants must be involved in scientific activities in the field of processing large data sets (bigdata) or projects that work in the field of artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analysis, and heavy workloads with graphics and video rendering.
Applicants may only submit one application per round for one GPU grant.

Main requirements for the content of the application
Proposals should be 1-2 pages, no more than 1 500 words, and include the area of research along with the challenges being addressed, referencing the above, explaining the main idea, the benefits to society, or relevant industrial applications. Proposals should explain relevant prior work along with the expected research outcomes and timeline.
Justifications for what computing power is needed and what is planned to be obtained as a result of its use.
Applicants should submit their CV along with their proposal.
Links to publications about the project (if any).
Letters of recommendation indicating the name, place of work, position and contacts of the person who gives the recommendation (by request).
The Applicant shall provide information to HOSTKEY describing for what purpose the GPU server will be used, including a link to a contest or project. If you plan to use the server for a personal project, then the Applicant shall provide a project description of 1-2 pages, or no more than 1,500 words, including the area of research along with the challenges being addressed in reference to the above, the main idea, the benefits to society, and relevant industrial applications.
As a result of the competition, a panel of experts shall determine one or more winners who will receive individual grants for the work specified in the application.
HOSTKEY will provide the winners with computing power for the implementation of the work declared in the tender application
If HOSTKEY provides a grant to the winner, the winner assumes the following obligations:
The number of grants is limited. Act now to get your high-performance GPU servers!
