DC2SCALE’s Vélizy Latécoère PAR3 Paris Data Center

The DC2Scale Vélizy Latécoère PAR3 is a state-of-the-art data center strategically located in Vélizy-Villacoublay, near Paris, France. Designed with scalability, reliability, and sustainability in mind, this facility caters to enterprises requiring cutting-edge infrastructure for their digital operations. The Vélizy Latécoère PAR3 data center by DC2Scale combines cutting-edge technology with operational excellence to provide businesses with the foundation for digital transformation. Whether you require robust colocation services, low-latency connectivity, or sustainable infrastructure, this facility offers the ideal environment for mission-critical operations.

Key features and benefits of DC2SCALE’s Paris Data Centre

600 m² of IT room with a capacity of 200 bays

The data center has 600 m² of space within a 1200 m² site, allowing clients to have rooms entirely customized to their needs. With a capacity of 200 bays, it can accommodate private cold corridors, private rooms, or individual colocation setups.

A Tier 3 design with electrical and cooling redundancy

The data center guarantees maximum electrical redundancy (N+1): designed, built and maintained by experts and in compliance with industry standards. From a cooling point of view, the site is equipped with direct free-cooling, coupled with a double chilled water loop allowing an excellent energy efficiency.

Redundant, smoothed and backed-up power supply

The datacenter has a 2x 1.5MVA connection (arterial break) supplying two separate main LVBs, secured by two generators with the possibility of connecting a mobile generator in the event of a major disaster.

Flexible corrugated power supply

Depending on the end customer's needs, the site is available in Design 3 (one corrugated channel, equipped with a string of two parallel inverters backed up by a second non-corrugated channel) or Design 4 (one corrugated channel, equipped with a string of two parallel inverters (N+1) as well as a second channel fed by a separate corrugated string).

Air conditioning cabinets (CRACs) in 2N

The datacenter has 6 Denco air conditioning units with direct freecooling functionality (fresh air supply and air mixing). Four units are required for the operation of the site at full load, and two units provide backup for the four "nominal" units. In parallel to the free-cooling mode, the site is equipped with two chilled water loops (two chillers each with their own hydraulic system). Each loop feeds three blowing cabinets.

Security 24/7

In order to protect your business and your servers - and as we put security at the core of our daily activity - a multitude of physical security systems are in place at our Velizy site. The site is supervised 24/7 by an external NOC and secured by a guard service.

Access to the datacenter

The Datacenter is accessed through a single-person airlock, preceded by a motorised armoured door and biometric access control. In addition, we have various infrared barriers, motion detectors and infrared cameras (with night-vision) both inside and outside the data center.

Sustainability

The data center prioritizes energy efficiency, utilizing renewable energy sources and innovative cooling systems to minimize its carbon footprint. It is committed to green initiatives aligned with global sustainability goals.

Digita’s Data Center features

Power supply

Ensuring a secure power supply is one of the key tasks of our data center services. To ensure a continuous power supply, our facilities are backed up with powerful UPS systems and diesel backup generators.

  • All data centers have two independent power lines leading all the way to the racks.
  • The backup generators secure the electricity supply, even in the event of long power outages. This guarantees power for organisations that need 24/7 availability for their infrastructure.
  • A redundant power supply for each facility also evens out power spikes and secures a clean, continuous power supply for critical device environments.

Cooling

The cooling system of the data center is based on the district cooling network of the City of Helsinki, allowing the generated waste heat to be recycled to heat properties. Conditions are monitored 24/7.

Security

The cornerstone of our operations involves keeping our customers’ hardware environments secure. Physical security has been implemented in each and every data center so as to guarantee the safety of the customer’s equipment. In addition, a range of additional services are available for tailoring security functionality to customer needs.

  • Perimeter and object monitoring
  • Access control cards and keys (biometrics)
  • Recording video monitoring and access control system
  • Lockable racks
  • 24/7 control room
  • Customized solutions available for dedicated facilities

Connectivity

The best network is not based on bandwidth alone. Digita’s Helsinki Pasila region is located right in the heart of Pasila’s media hub, where also the FICIX Helsinki IXP (Internet Exchange Point) is located. This enables easy connection and peering with the network operators or the partners you need.

From Digita’s Helsinki Pasila region we are also connected to the international Cinia network, which uses the C-Lion1 submarine cable between Finland and Germany. This enables the lowest latency route to central Europe.

The region consists of two availability zones that are interconnected with fiber on separate routes.

Detailed information about LIM Data Center 3

General

  • Location & Overview: The LIM Data Center (LIM DC) is located in the heart of Warsaw, Poland (Al. Jerozolimskie 65/79), housed within the LIM building’s lower level (-1 floor). It is a modern, carrier-neutral facility serving as a major telecommunications hub in Poland. The operator has over 25 years of experience, and the data center is built to approximately a Tier 2+ reliability standard, featuring redundant critical systems. The colocation area can accommodate around 300 standard rack cabinets for customer equipment.
  • Physical Infrastructure: The server room is constructed as a dedicated, fire-rated compartment – all walls, the floor and ceiling have a 120-minute fire resistance rating, and all cable/pipe penetrations are sealed with certified 120-minute firestops. A raised access floor is installed throughout the server room, with a height of 68 cm to facilitate underfloor cold air distribution to the racks. The raised floor system is fully certified (type ER-01-S40P, material class B1) and built for heavy loads – up to 25 kN of distributed load per square meter and 5 kN point load, with an antistatic PVC top finish. The subfloor slab can support ~350 kg/m² at the pedestal points, ensuring stability for dense equipment installations. Standard rack cabinets up to 47U in height are supported; it is recommended that racks have perforated front and rear doors (≈80% open) to assure adequate airflow. Cooling efficiency is enhanced by a hot/cold aisle containment layout – the cold aisles are enclosed and covered to increase cooling capacity and prevent the mixing of hot and cold air.
  • Environmental Safeguards: In areas with water-bearing infrastructure (e.g. near chilled-water lines, AC condensation drains or humidifiers), an automatic water leak detection system is in place. This system is integrated with the data center BMS and will trigger automatic shut-off valves to stop water supply in the event of a leak, protecting equipment from water damage. All rooms and corridors related to the data center are equipped with emergency lighting on battery backup, providing at least 1 hour of illumination during power loss for safety and evacuation.

Security

  • Access Control: Physical security is maintained at the highest level. Access to the colocation areas is restricted 24/7 – only authorized personnel (LIM staff or tenant representatives approved per procedure) may enter. All doors to the server rooms and related areas are secured by electronic access control readers, requiring personal access cards for entry. Every access is centrally logged. The entrance to the server room area is isolated from general building circulation, with a secure lobby to prevent tailgating. There is no possibility of unauthorized access; security staff monitor the entry point around the clock.
  • Monitoring & Surveillance: The facility is under continuous surveillance and monitoring. A comprehensive CCTV system covers all entrances, corridors and interior spaces of the data center. Cameras record continuously 24/7, and the footage is centrally archived. These cameras, along with all other security devices, are tied into the building’s Building Management System (BMS), allowing facility operators to supervise security in real time. The site also employs motion detection sensors within critical areas as an added security layer. In addition to electronic monitoring, on-site security personnel are present 24/7, providing constant oversight. The combination of card access control, CCTV, motion detectors, and round-the-clock guards ensures a multi-tier security regime for the data center.

Fire Detection & Suppression

  • Fire Detection: The server room is a separate fire zone with robust fire detection systems operating continuously 24/7/365. A VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) system is installed, actively sampling air to detect even minute traces of smoke at the earliest stage. This provides an advanced warning of any incipient fire. Additionally, the server room and surrounding areas are fitted with conventional smoke detectors tied into the building’s central fire alarm system. The building is staffed with a dedicated fire protection officer and is directly connected to the municipal Fire Brigade for immediate alarm transmission, per LIM building safety procedures.
  • Fire Suppression: The data center is protected by an inert gas fire suppression system. Specifically, an AF-300 system using IG-541 Inergen gas (an inert gas blend) is deployed in the server rooms. The suppression system is divided into multiple zones (a 4-zone setup) covering the main server rooms (including both DC2 and DC3) as well as the critical infrastructure rooms. In the event of a fire trigger, the system will rapidly discharge Inergen gas to suppress the fire without damaging electronic equipment. The discharge piping in the server room uses special acoustic dampening nozzles to keep sound volume below 110 dB during agent release, protecting equipment and staff from loud discharge noise. The suppression release is controlled by a central Schrack fire panel for coordinated activation.

For the main electrical switchgear rooms (power rooms for lines A and B, including UPS and batteries), separate SAPPHIRE (Novec 1230) gas extinguishing units by Tyco are installed. These localized systems protect the power distribution areas using Novec 1230 clean-agent gas, which is effective at fire suppression and safe for electronic equipment. All rooms protected by gas suppression are equipped with pressure relief decompression dampers to vent the overpressure created by the gas discharge, thereby preserving room integrity. The entire fire suppression installation is designed in compliance with NFPA 2001 (2018 edition) standards for clean agent systems. It is fully integrated into the building’s fire monitoring system, so any activation will alert building security and automatically notify the fire department. Surrounding areas outside the server rooms are additionally safeguarded by the building’s sprinkler system (for example, common corridors have sprinklers and detectors), ensuring comprehensive fire protection throughout the facility.

Air Conditioning & Cooling

  • Precision Cooling Systems: The data center employs a high-capacity, redundant precision air conditioning system to maintain optimal environmental conditions. A total of 6 primary precision AC units + 1 backup unit (6+1) are installed, based on Mitsubishi Electric i-NEXT precision cooling cabinets. Each unit provides approximately 81 kW of sensible cooling capacity. In normal operation, the combined capacity of ~486 kW is sufficient to cool the full IT load, with the seventh unit available as an N+1 redundant spare (it will automatically start if any one unit fails). The cooling units use a glycol-cooled architecture – heat is extracted via glycol loops to external dry coolers, with circulation pumps driving the coolant. Critically, the cooling setup has no single point of failure: all CRAC units are fed by dual independent power supplies (Power Route A and B), and each unit’s controller can switch to an alternate power source through automatic transfer switch (ATS) mechanisms without interruption.
  • Energy Efficiency: The cooling system is designed for efficiency. It features a “free cooling” mode that engages during low outside-temperature conditions. When outdoor air drops below roughly 10 °C, the system can switch to free-cooling (using the dry coolers and pumps alone, bypassing the compressors). This significantly reduces electrical consumption and operating costs during cooler months by leveraging ambient air for cooling. The hot/cold aisle containment mentioned earlier further improves efficiency by preventing hot and cold air mixing, allowing the cooling units to operate more effectively.
  • Environmental Control: The precision AC system not only controls temperature but also maintains proper humidity levels. Humidification is integrated – every second AC cabinet is equipped with a humidifier module. The total humidification capacity is engineered to keep relative humidity within the acceptable range (approximately 30%–70% RH) even at full IT load. The temperature in the cold aisles is kept stable in the range of 20–27 °C, measured at about 1.1 m height (mid-rack level) in the cold aisle, over a 24-hour period at maximum load. These parameters meet the recommended thermal guidelines for IT equipment.
  • Ventilation & Redundancy: In addition to recirculating precision cooling, the data center has a dedicated mechanical ventilation system for fresh air intake and exhaust. The supply ventilation ties into the building’s system but has enhancements: an extra filtration unit, constant airflow regulators, and motorized fire dampers at the server room’s air intake and exhaust points. This ensures a clean make-up of air is provided as required by regulations, independent of building air quality. An independent exhaust ventilation installation, with its own exhaust fan, is employed to remove air from the server room. This exhaust system serves a dual purpose – it operates continuously for general ventilation and will also activate to purge the room after a fire suppression gas discharge, clearing any remaining Inergen/Novec gas or smoke from the environment. Overall, the cooling and climate control systems are fully monitored by the BMS and have been designed with redundancy and fail-safe capabilities to maintain stable conditions at all times.

Power

  • Utility Feeds & Distribution: Power reliability is a core feature of the LIM data center. The facility is supplied by two independent electrical feeds (A and B) from the municipal grid. Each feed comes through a dedicated transformer (Trafo) station, and they enter separate main electrical rooms (RIT A and RIT B) adjacent to the server room. These dual feeds form two isolated power paths within the data center – all critical infrastructure and client equipment can be dual-corded to both A and B supplies. Rack power distribution units are set up such that each rack can receive two supply circuits (either 230 V single-phase or 400 V three-phase) – one from path A and one from path B. This means every rack has redundant power inputs. All rack power circuits are individually metered with remote-reading energy meters, enabling detailed monitoring of power usage per client cabinet. Under normal operation, the IT load is typically balanced roughly 50/50 between the A and B feeds, so if either side fails, the remaining feed can carry the full load without overloading. In the event that one utility feed fails or is cut, an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) system immediately switches the load over to the other feed to keep equipment powered without interruption.
  • UPS Backup: To protect against short-term power fluctuations or outages, one of the power paths is backed by an Uninterruptible Power Supply system. Path A includes a modular UPS plant consisting of three Eaton 93PM-G2 units (300 kVA each) configured in an N+1 redundant setup. Together, these UPS modules provide up to 300 kVA (with one module redundancy) and are equipped with battery strings sized for approximately 5 minutes of autonomy at full load. This UPS system conditions the power (voltage/frequency regulation and surge suppression) and can carry the load during the brief gap between a utility outage and generator start. The UPS also features a maintenance bypass to allow servicing without downtime. (While Path B currently relies on utility/generator, the infrastructure is designed so that a similar UPS system can be added to Path B in the future if required for full dual-path UPS protection)
  • Generator Backup: For longer outages, the data center has robust generator backup. There are two diesel generator sets (model GSW880M) installed, with a combined capacity of ~1.28 MW (approximately 2 × 640 kW each). These generators are configured to automatically start in case of a prolonged power failure, and they can supply power to the entire data center infrastructure (including cooling systems) in the absence of grid power. The dual-generator setup provides redundancy (each unit can cover critical loads if the other is offline) and is sized to allow future expansion of capacity. Fuel storage and refueling arrangements (not detailed in the documents) would support extended runtime as needed. Overall, the facility’s power system provides a high level of resilience – dual independent utility feeds, automatic failover, UPS bridging power, and long-term generator power. The total available power capacity for IT load is about 2.5 MW, delivered via the two paths, and the building’s electrical infrastructure has up to 6 MW of utility capacity in a redundant configuration for an additional safety margin.

Connectivity

  • Carrier-Neutral Hub: LIM Data Center is a carrier-neutral colocation hub, meaning it hosts a wide array of telecommunications carriers and service providers. The facility provides access to nearly 100 different operators, including major domestic and international telecom carriers, Internet service providers (ISPs), and cloud connectivity providers. This makes it one of the major telecom exchange points in Poland, enabling tenants to connect with many networks directly on-site. The data center is also connected to around 20 metropolitan fiber networks (city-wide fiber backbones), extending its reach across Warsaw and beyond.
  • Fiber Infrastructure: The building is richly equipped with fiber-optic infrastructure. Tenants benefit from an existing in-house cabling system comprising over 12,000 fiber pairs crisscrossing the facility. This vast internal fiber plant allows for quick and easy cross-connects between different carriers and customers within the data center. New connections can be provisioned rapidly (the facility prides itself on fast cross-connect implementation) and at competitive costs, due to the high density of available fibers. There are also seven diverse physical entry routes for fiber into the LIM building. These multiple Points-of-Entry ensure that network cables from various providers enter the facility through different paths, protecting against single points of failure (for example, if one duct is cut, traffic can flow via another route). This high level of route diversity enhances the reliability of connectivity services for clients.
  • Additional Connectivity Features: The LIM building offers unique advantages for communications beyond just fiber. It features a 180-metre tall communications mast on the roof, which tenants can utilize for installing radio antennas and point-to-point wireless link equipment. This is ideal for line-of-sight radio relay connections or broadcasting needs, providing an alternate medium for connectivity. Furthermore, the data center offers various ancillary services like access to broadband networks and assistance with obtaining links from multiple providers. A remote “Hands & Eyes” service is available for clients who need technical support on-site, and even backup office space or adjacent hotel accommodations can be arranged for disaster recovery personnel. All these connectivity options and services are supported by high technical and organizational standards, ensuring that customers can easily establish resilient connections with numerous operators and services through the LIM Data Center.

Detailed information about NTS Workspace Zurich Data Center

General

NTS Workspace’s Zurich data center is a carrier-neutral, high-performance colocation facility serving the Zürich region. It offers approximately 1250 m² of raised-floor data hall space for racks, plus an additional 500 m² earmarked for private cages and suites. As an owner-operated Swiss company, NTS emphasizes reliability, flexibility and customer-focused service at this facility, with solutions ranging from partial-rack colocations to dedicated private suites.

Designed to meet Tier IV reliability standards, the Zurich data center features fully redundant power and cooling infrastructure for maximum uptime. It has earned a reputation as “one of the most energy-efficient” data centers in Zurich. NTS achieves this efficiency through modern engineering measures like waste heat recovery and the use of 100% renewable energy (the utility supply is sourced entirely from sustainable hydropower). This combination of robust redundancy and green engineering ensures stable, yet environmentally responsible operations. All standard colocation packages (quarter, half, full rack) include pre-provisioned network cabling and can be upgraded or scaled as needed, giving clients a flexible growth path.

Security

Physical security at the data center is stringent. Entry is controlled by a biometric access system. This means only authorized individuals may enter, one person at a time, and equipment deliveries go through secured loading locks.

The facility is under 24×7 video surveillance with CCTV cameras throughout, and all access events are logged. In addition, the data center is staffed by trained personnel, providing on-site security monitoring and rapid response. These comprehensive security measures ensure that customer IT assets are safeguarded against unauthorized access or intrusion.

Fire Detection & Suppression

The Zurich facility is equipped with advanced fire detection and suppression systems to protect infrastructure. An active VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) system continuously samples the air for even trace amounts of smoke. This early warning system can detect developing fire conditions far sooner than standard smoke alarms, allowing time for preventive action. In the event of a fire, an Inergen gas fire suppression system is in place to automatically extinguish fires without water. Inergen (an inert gas mixture) is released quickly to suppress flames while being safe for electronic equipment (minimizing damage compared to sprinkler water). The data center’s fire protection is designed to extinguish fires rapidly and prevent collateral damage, ensuring continuity of operations. All fire detection and suppression mechanisms are monitored 24/7 by the operations team.

Air Conditioning & Cooling

The cooling infrastructure at colozüri.ch is built for both high efficiency and redundancy. The data halls use fully redundant air-conditioning systems (multiple CRAC/HVAC units in an 2N configuration) to maintain optimal temperatures and humidity for servers.

Cold air is delivered via cold-aisle containment; i.e. racks are arranged in contained aisles to separate cold supply air from hot exhaust air, significantly improving cooling efficiency.

The facility also implements heat recovery technologies, capturing waste heat from the servers and reusing it or dissipating it efficiently to reduce overall energy consumption.

Thanks to these measures, the data center achieves a very high level of energy efficiency in cooling operations. Environmental conditions are closely monitored, and cooling systems are backed up by emergency power, ensuring that server temperatures remain stable even if a component fails. In summary, a combination of modern design (cold-aisle containment, heat reuse) and fully redundant chillers/CRAC units keeps the IT equipment running cool and reliably at all times.

Power

The power architecture of NTS’s Zurich data center is engineered for continuous uptime. Each rack is fed by dual independent power feeds (A+B power) backed by separate UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems. In normal operation, critical loads are supported by these redundant UPS clusters to filter power and bridge any gap until generators start. The facility has redundant dedicated transformers connecting to the regional medium-voltage power grid in a ring topology, which provides a resilient utility supply and protection against grid interruptions. In case of any outage, multiple diesel backup generators can kick in to supply full power to the site, with fuel on-site to sustain prolonged emergencies. This end-to-end redundancy (from utility feed, through transformers and UPS, to generators) means the site can tolerate failures or maintenance on any one power component without disrupting customer equipment.

Connectivity

Network connectivity is a key advantage of the colozüri.ch data center. It is a completely carrier-neutral facility, hosting a wide range of domestic and international carriers on-site. Customers have a choice of many fiber providers and can easily procure connections to the carriers of their preference. At least 15 fiber/wavelength carriers are available in-house, including major players such as Arelion (Telia Carrier), Cogent Communications, Colt, Lumen (Level 3), Swisscom, Sunrise, Salt, Zayo and others. These carriers have their fiber infrastructure and PoPs directly in the facility, so obtaining high-speed links (from simple cross-connects up to dark fiber or wavelength services) is straightforward. NTS Workspace also operates its own backbone network, which is one of the connectivity options in the ecosystem.

In addition to carriers, the data center houses a core node of the SwissIX Internet Exchange. In fact, colozüri.ch is one of the five main SwissIX sites nationally, meaning it contains a SwissIX exchange switch. This allows customers to participate in local peering with other ISPs and networks for free or at very low cost, improving latency and redundancy by exchanging traffic directly on-site. The presence of SwissIX and many ISPs (e.g. iway, Init7, etc.) fosters a rich ecosystem within the facility, where networks interconnect freely. All interconnections (fiber or copper between racks and carriers/partners) are available without recurring fees – NTS only charges a one-time setup for patching, making it economical to set up multiple connections. This connectivity setup enables tenants to build multi-homed network architectures with ease, enhancing their resilience and performance. Whether you require transit from a Tier1 carrier, a metro wavelength, or peering exchange access, the Zurich data center provides a versatile, carrier-neutral hub for all your connectivity needs.
